Leadership Changes at Honda Two-Wheelers India: Tsutsumu Otani appointed as new President & CEO

Tsutsumu Otani has been named the new president, CEO, and managing director of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) with immediate effect. Otani was previously Honda Motor Co. Japan's vice president.

Atsushi Ogata, who oversaw Honda's two-wheeler operations in India for three years before returning to Shanghai as the executive general manager at the Shanghai Branch of Honda Motor (China) Investment, was succeeded by Otani.

In 1997, Otani began working for Honda Japan. Ogata's current title, which was his previous title, is executive general manager, Shanghai Branch Honda Motor (China) Investment.

The company has also disclosed additional changes to the Board of Directors in addition to this. It promoted Vinay Dhingra to senior director of human resource & administration, corporate affairs, information technology, and the Honda India Foundation from the director of general & corporate affairs, strategic information system, and HMSI. Sanjeev Jain, the operating officer for new model purchase and parts strategy, and Yogesh Mathur, the operating officer for sales and marketing, have now been promoted to the board of directors of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India.

Yogesh Mathur has been named the new director for Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, Logistics Planning and Control, and Premium Motorcycle Business. Sanjeev Jain has also been chosen to serve as the new director of Purchase. He will succeed V Sridhar, who left HMSI after more than 23 years in the position of senior director of purchase.
