In the next two months, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (MSIL) will introduce a brand-new 7-seat hybrid SUV to the Indian market. Additionally, it is confirmed that Toyota's strong-hybrid system will be used in the premium SUV. Although there are currently few details available about the upcoming car, we think that it may share a platform and hybrid powertrain with the Innova Hycross. The new SUV is anticipated to hit the market around the end of June or the beginning of July 2023.

The 2.0-liter NA petrol hybrid engine found in the Toyota Innova Hycross' higher trim levels produces a maximum of 186 PS and a maximum torque of 206 Nm. Despite having an SUV-inspired design, the Toyota Innova Hycross is an MPV; however, the Maruti Suzuki version of the vehicle will probably be positioned as an SUV.

However, the Maruti Suzuki hybrid 7-seat SUV is anticipated to have an entirely new exterior that will help differentiate it from the Innova Hycross. The Toyota MPV's interior may remain largely unchanged but with a few modifications and new features. Like the donor vehicle, it's likely that the Maruti Suzuki MPV will also have middle-row captain seats available as an option.

By 2030, Maruti Suzuki intends to introduce six electric vehicles into the Indian market. An aggressive EV line-up will help Maruti Suzuki capture the desired market share since the automaker has not yet made an entry into the EV market in India. R. C. Bhargava, Chairman, MSIL, made it clear at a press conference today that the company will continue to focus on alternative fuel technologies like CNG, ethanol, and even hybrid tech despite the numerous EVs Maruti Suzuki has planned for the Indian market.
