Unleash the Track Beast: Ducati Launches Monster SP at Rs 15.95 Lakh in India

The most expensive SP version of Ducati's renowned Monster is now available for Rs 15.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The SP version of the Monster costs Rs 3 lakh more than the standard Monster and is also more track-focused.

  1. SP receives Brembo Stylema callipers and Ohlins suspension components.
  2. Greater seat height than a standard bike by 20mm
  3. Inspired by the Ducati Desmosedici race bike's paint scheme

The suspension and braking systems that are available are the biggest mechanical differences between the standard Monster and the SP variant. The SP is suspended by an Ohlins NIX 30 fork and an Ohlins monoshock, both of which are fully adjustable. Brembo, an Italian brake specialist, is responsible for the braking system, which features premium Stylema callipers that clamp down on twin 320mm discs.

The bike has a seat height of 840mm due to the change in the suspension units, which has made it taller. These modifications also result in more available cornering clearance. A steering damper is another standard feature of the Monster SP.

At 186 kg (wet), the Monster SP is 2 kg lighter than the typical bike. This was accomplished by using a new, lighter subframe, a Termignoni carbon/titanium exhaust system, and a lithium-ion battery. Additionally, it has Pirelli Rosso 4 tyres instead of the Rosso 3 ones found on the standard bike.

A 937cc liquid-cooled L-twin engine that produces 111 hp at 9,250 rpm and 93 Nm at 6,500 rpm powers the Monster SP. A 6-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quick shifter is mated to this engine. Here, a full range of electronic rider aids, all controlled by a six-axis IMU, are offered, including traction control, wheelie control, launch control, power modes, riding modes, and convertible dual-channel ABS.

The Ducati Desmosedici GP racebike served as the inspiration for the distinctive paint job and color-coordinated seat cowl applied to the Monster SP.

The 2023 Street Triple RS, which will soon be released in India, will compete with the Ducati Monster SP. The Monster SP sits in Ducati's lineup between the Rs 15.95 lakh Supersport 950 and the Rs 16.05 lakh Multistrada V2 with a sticker price of Rs 15.95 lakh.
